GraphiTech is delighted to inform that the paper entitled “SUNSHINE: Smart UrbaN Services for Higher eNergy Efficiency” has been accepted for a poster presentation at the European Data Forum 2015 that will be held on 16-17 November 2015 in Luxembourg.
The European Data Forum brings together industry, researchers, policy makers and members of community initiatives to discuss the challenges of Big Data and the emerging Data Economy and to develop suitable action plans for addressing these challenges. The special focus is on small and medium enterprises, since they are driving innovation and competition in many data-driven economic sectors.
The first training workshop of the SUNSHINE project on the theme of “Energy Maps” will be organized on 25 September 2015 in Ferrara, Italy.
The objective of the workshop is to present the platform developed within the SUNSHINE project, as possible support to municipal energy planning and monitoring of activities foreseen in the Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAP).
There will be discussions related to maps, i.e. geographic data and how to integrate data from various sources to estimate the energy requirements of buildings throughout the city.
The agenda of the workshop can be found here.
The workshop is free of charge and open to all interested parties (up to a maximum of 100 people). The accreditation by the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape architects and Conservators of the Province of Ferrara is underway (more information related to credits will be available on the Im@teria platform from 27 July). For the acquisition of the credits, the members of the Order of Architects can register directly on the day of the workshop, before its beginning (from 8:30-9:00 am).
We kindly invite all interested parties (members and non-members of the Order of Architects) to register their attendance on the following website: http://sunshine-ferrara.eventbrite.it
The following day, on 26 September, there will be organized a “Mapping party”: in the morning, divided in groups, we will use an app developed within the project to monitor and complete the data of buildings in one area of the city of Ferrara, while in the afternoon we will verify how (in automatic) the energy performance estimation changed.
The SUNSHINE project will be represented in the OpenLivingLab Days 2015, hosted in Istanbul (Turkey) from the 25th to the 28th of August, within the "Engaging citizens in Smart Cities mapping" workshop held on the 28th of August.
The aim of the workshop is to provide some techniques, methodologies and scenarios to engage with smart cities users (e.g. citizens) in order to gather relevant data from the crowd as well as from the PSI (Public Sector Information) to build innovative services using co-designing and participative techniques.
The event is a great opportunity to present some results from the SUNSHINE project related to user-involvement, linking with the Living Labs methodologies.
GraphiTech is delighted to announce that the SUNSHINE project has been accepted to be presented in the ICT 2015 Exhibition in Lisbon on 20-22 October 2015.
ICT 2015 Innovate, Connect, Transform is one of the biggest ICT events in the EU that comprises a number of activities such as interactive exhibition showcasing the best results and impact of the most recent ICT research and innovation, a presentation of new Commission’s policies and initiatives on research and innovation in ICT, as well as funding and networking opportunities to enhance quality partnerships.
The presentation entitled “Application of CityGML Energy ADE in the SUNSHINE project” was given by Fondazione GraphiTech during the urban energy workshop organized within Geospatial World Forum that was held from 25-29 May 2015 in Lisbon, Portugal. The workshop was targeted to urban and building energy experts, standardization bodies, INSPIRE national contact points, ISA WG “Spatial Information and Services” contact points, municipalities and local authorities, energy suppliers and energy saving companies. The main objectives of the workshop were to discuss about the need for open and harmonized spatial data to support energy policies and local energy plans, and to present the OGC CityGML Energy Application Domain Extension (ADE) that facilitates and promotes urban energy modeling.
